  • Make giant puppets, props, and costumes utilizing recycled materials and be part of our special Palila Parade in downtown Hilo for First Friday event in spring 2014 as part of the completion of the Palila mural in downtown Hilo. All ages and abilities are welcome.

Restoring Mauna Kea Presentation

Wednesday, February 12 7pm – 8pm


  • Learn all about the restoration efforts of Mauna Kea’s high elevvation dry forest and its most famous feathery inhabitant, the Palila. MKFRP’s volunteer and Outreach Coordinator, Jackson Bauer, will present about this special forest and the work being done to protect it. Enjoy a fun and educational evening at one of Waimea’s cherished landmarks.
